Thought Your Body Type Couldn’t Wear That? Newsflash: It Can

Forget what anyone says. Those items of clothing you’ve deemed “completely unflattering” for your curves or your legs or whatever – well, consider this your permission slip to have at them.

Fitting Room You Can Wear It

You have: Short legs
Feared item:
The midi dress (or skirt)
How to wear it:
Midis should hit mid-calf. But if your legs are on the shorter side, that might not happen. Look for midi-length dresses with a slit or draping in the front or side to draw the eye up, and opt for high-waisted midi skirts. Then pair with your most daring heel to keep the lengthening thing going.

You have:
 Curves for days
Feared item: The oversized sweater
How to wear it: A sweater that is too tentlike can head toward frumpy. Choose a slimmer oversized number and belt it (to flatter curves in all the right places) instead. Then pair with dark, skinny pants and flat ankle boots to balance the look.

You have: A small chest
Feared item: The plunging neckline
How to wear it: Unabashedly. Basically, you were blessed with the ability to wear this daring neckline. So stop the inner chatter. Use fashion tape to prevent mishaps, pair with modest bottoms to keep things under wraps, and go. (Don’t look back.)

You have:
A pear shape
Feared item: The wild pant
How to wear it: Not keen on playing up your fuller half? Don’t be afraid. Choose pants in a thicker fabric, like a brocade splashed with a bold (but not busy) print. Compact patterns in two colors work well. Pair with a slim-fit top to accentuate your small upper body.
