Company’s Coming: 4 Ways to Prep for Fall Guests
Clean sheets and spare towels go without saying. Next time overnighters stop by, take a few extra steps to make them feel truly at home.
- Give the bedside a welcoming feel. Mini water bottles. A magazine with local to-dos. Fresh, seasonal flowers like sunflowers and mums.
- Make space for sprawl. Create a suitcase stand with a foldout table or trunk, and clear some hangers in the closet.
- Keep extra bedding nearby. Pillows. Blankets. Even oversized sweaters and socks. Everyone has their own snooze style, and guests likely won’t ask for favors.
- Store toiletries in plain sight. Bottom line: guests shouldn’t need directions to the toothpaste or hand cream. Arrange it all in an easy-to-reach basket.
