NYFW Nails: Bare Is the New Black

All through Fashion Week, designers sent neutrals down the runway – and not just on clothes. Nails were opting out of color, too. Take a peek and see which looks were most popular.

Polish-Free
Sure, we all love our manicured tips – but it’s good to let nails breathe every once in a while. And this season, it’s in style. Everyone from Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller to Christina Hendricks were ahead of the curve and chose to go polish-free during Fashion Week. With a bit of nail filing and a quick buff, you’re set.

Nude
After attending the Catherine Malandrino and JOIE presentations, it was official (to us) – nude nails are what everyone is going to ask for at the salon this spring. Recreate Alexander WangMonique Lhuillier, and countless other designers’ nude looks using “Sand Tropez” by essie or “Pink Ribbon” by butter LONDON.

Pale Pink
Zac Posen‘s models sported pale pink nails by Morgan Taylor. To copy the look (and channel your inner Kate Middleton), paint your tips this ladylike hue. “Guchi Muchi Puchi” by essie and “Shape of My Heart” by Deborah Lippmann are just a couple of the polishes that will make you feel pretty in pink.
