Every season has its own “uniform.” And the jean-and-tee combo is to fall what cutoffs and silky tanks are to summer. But if you’re afraid this look is too tomboy-esque, fear not – I’m here to show you the light. You already have the curve-loving jeans, right? Good. Here’s what I know about the rest:
Start at the Top
The magic is all in your shirt. This look is about comfort, so by no means, I repeat, no means, are you to sacrifice that. Keep things light and flowy. After all, you can always add layers. The feminine part comes into play with the cut of the shirt. Sport a wider neck to flaunt that alluring collarbone area, and opt for an extra-low back or cutout to really lure onlookers in.
Tie One On
Florals are no longer reserved for sweltering summer weather (joy!). Patterned fall scarves will be everywhere this season, so you may as well jump on the trend. Play with different knots and choose bright colors. You’ll not only catch attention – you can also blend right in with that morphing foliage.
It’s only appropriate that you complete this look with booties. Or leather boots of any kind, really. I tend to favor different shades of brown, but there are really no limitations. Try out oxblood (it will be a huge hue this year). Keep it classic with sleek black. Or better yet, go bold with a printed variety.
The rest is up to you. Add a ladylike cloche hat or a slouchy beanie. Stack on bangles with abandon. Buckle on a waist belt, because – why not? And, obviously, don’t forget a leather bomber. Fall dressing is the best, isn’t it?
