Seafoam Green vs. Blush Pink: The Great Fashion Week Debate

New York Fashion Week saw its fair share of colors come down the runway, but seafoam green and blush pink were the ones that really caught the Rue team’s eyes. In fact, our Fashion Director and Lead Copy Director have been battling it out over which one will be the color of the season ever since. Check out each of their stances below, then decide for yourself. (As for me, I’m staying impartial. They are my bosses, after all.)

Team Seafoam:
“Tangerine Tango, Emerald Green, and… Seafoam? Okay, so New York Fashion Week hasn’t quite ended – and Paris and Milan have yet to begin – but when Pantone predicts the hottest color for Spring 2014, I’m betting it will be the beachy green/blue hybrid I’m calling Seafoam. From pretty evening dresses to sporty outerwear, this shade keeps popping up all over the runways.”
Jackie N., Fashion Director

Team Blush Pink:
“Rose or blush pink is sure to be the color of next spring for so many reasons. This week, I’ve seen it paired with black, navy blue, cream, white, and even a tonal shade of itself. It pairs nicely with so many colors, meaning it’s wearable. It’s also incredibly flattering on all skin types. And it looks great with the natural makeup that’s been all over the runways. Even though it’s girly, it’s the fresh and edgy color for spring.”
