Work It Out: The “Gym and Tonic” Craze

Birthdays. Bachelorette bashes. College reunions. Lately, it seems everyone’s celebrating by burning a few calories. Dubbed the “gym and tonic” movement by The New York Times, fitness parties are the latest craze sweeping the nation.

So just what does a fitness party entail?
Fitness parties are a great alternative to the traditional gym workout. Instead of hopping on the treadmill, pick a workout (from yoga to Zumba®) to do with your group of choice. Then throw in a few laser lights, glow sticks, and loud music. It’s pretty much a club atmosphere – minus the extra calories from your bar order.
