Fit to Be Tied: How to Rock Fall’s Staple Scarf

Fact: gauzy scarves are to fall what sandals are to summer. Translation? You can’t get through the season without three… at minimum. But before you go on a scarf-buying spree, check out these tips for wearing one.

Keep it lightweight. It’s not winter, so save the thick, chunky knits for later.

Look for a statement print. When you’re struggling with an outfit (Monday mornings, anyone?), take inspiration from this year’s runways and look to a boldly patterned scarf. Think paisley and graphic florals. Pair with tailored separates, and boom – you’re in the office earlier than expected.

Experiment with it. Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to throw it around your neck. Instead, try encircling your fedora or go for a super bohemian look and turn it into a turban headband (all the cool kids are doing it).

Our The Fall Lookbook: For Men & Women Boutique opens Friday, August 16, at 11AM ET.
