As a friend to a new mother or two, I deem myself favorite aunt – related or not. My niece (by best-friend association) may be less than a year old and guaranteed to grow out of (or throw up on) every tiny outfit in no time, yet I accept the responsibility – nay, obligation – to dress her up in every ooh- and ahh-inducing ensemble I can find. And, of course, teach her about the importance of occasion-appropriate, always-showstopping attire.
