Whether you need to make space for all that new loot or you’re just not loving the sweater from Great-Aunt Mary, this is the time of the year when we find ourselves with tons of stuff in need of relocating. Enter: the art of the donation. While the holidays may be over, the need for charity is not – and all those items you less-than-love can be put to good use in a number of (feel-good) ways.

Of course, “cooking for an army” is the kitchen aficionado’s holiday M.O. All those resulting leftovers? Donate them to a food bank.

You scored that much-wanted puffer for Hannukah – now give your old one a whole new lease on life.

Sports Equipment
The garage can only hold so many soccer balls, after all.

Hands down the surest way to make any deserving kid happy.

New Year's Eve Lipsticks

While I’m a huge proponent of a classic red lip, it leaves a little something to be desired on a night that is notorious for letting your inhibitions go the way of the wind – New Year’s Eve. If we’re willing to go outside our style comfort zones and pile on leather, sequins, and fringe (just not simultaneously) to ring in the New Year, doesn’t it make sense to be a little more daring with our lip color, too?

Get in touch with your dark side. A deep crimson, could-be-mistaken-for-black lip instantly adds a sumptuous element to your look.

Peachy keen. An orange hue is unexpected without crossing into cringe-worthy territory. Stick to shades that remain in the coral family to rock this shade perfectly.

Seeing violet. A purple lip is not for the faint of heart – but it is for the fashion-forward. If you’re aiming to stand out this New Year’s, try swiping on this unique hue.

 The Post Holiday Savior: SPANX

Still holding on to a few post-holiday pounds? Yeah, me too. Luckily, when armed with these slimming saviors, I know I can take my time getting back to the gym. With tanks, tights, and even swimsuits that lift and smooth, what’s a few more days in front of the fire with family and a plate full of leftovers?

For the Post-Holiday Vacation
No one likes to brave the beach when they’re feeling bloated, but with this black and white number – part of the “Whittle Waistline” collection – cover-ups might just become a thing of the past.

For the Return to the Office
Worn under a blazer, this simple, slimming tank hides last weekend’s fruitcake consumption in a flash.

For Getting Back to the Dating Scene
With this seamless, smoothing underwear, you’ll walk into any dinner date feeling as confident as can be.

Our SPANX Boutique opens Thursday, December 27, at 11AM ET.

@ciaobella50: Calm and quiet morning after Christmas …. Cappuccino is my best friend
Make that five cappuccinos, and then we’ll talk.

@mrjoezee: I’m hoping the Betty Crocker Easy-Bake oven in a gender-neutral color is under my tree. If not, I’ll have to settle for the Wolf 6-burner.
We’re still waiting for our gender-neutral oven… 20+ years and counting…

@kattanita: Mrs. Doubtfire and a plate full of chocolate chip cookies.
Why does that sound like the best afternoon ever?

@OscarPRGirl: williams sonoma is so scary right now.
We’re not sure if you’re talking about the overabundance of holiday décor, or the people shopping there.

@AmandaOleson: Christmas cookies for brunch? Yes please.
Sounds like our post-holiday menu.

It’s official – the holidays are over. And if you’re anything like me, there’s a sea of crinkled-up wrapping paper left on your living room floor. But this year, instead of throwing it all out, I’m taking a cue from craft guru Martha Stewart and putting all that leftover paper to good use.

1. For post-holiday dinner parties, serve cocktails on a drink tray lined with leftover metallic paper.
2. Resolving to get organized for the New Year? Make it that much easier with these decorative box labels made from recycled wrapping paper.
3. Keep your place in all those books you were gifted with a homemade bookmark made of wrapping paper.
4. The best way to say thanks for that oh-so-sweet gift? A card made from the wrapping paper it came in.
