Five-Minute Pow-Wow: Stacy Frati on Sweet Pea Style

When it comes to outfitting a hectic schedule – from workdays to date nights – Sweet Pea designer Stacy Frati has women everywhere (stylishly) covered. Here, I caught up with the talented designer to talk work/life balance and, of course, clothes.

I love the versatility of your line. Where do you draw your inspiration from?
From women who work, raise children, go out on “date nights,” and are always on the go. Sweet Pea has the duality that today’s woman needs.

So if you had to describe the Sweet Pea style in three words, what would they be?

The Sweet Pea woman is feminine, flirty, and confident.

So many women struggle with a work/life balance – how do you manage to handle it ? Any tips?
I have worked my whole life. As a mother, I’m a role model. My husband and I are blessed with three children who have been taught that nothing should ever be taken for granted. I truly enjoy what I do. One needs peace in life to have a true balance.

From work and errands to date night, sometimes it feels like we’re going nonstop 24/7. (Or at least that’s how I feel sometimes!) Is there one piece of clothing that can best handle a demanding schedule?
Sweet Pea is known for the “day to night” tops. I actually believe the Sweet Pea woman can take her day top to the next evening venue by simply putting on a pair of heels or taking off her jacket.

As we get ready for fall, what do you think are the three most important pieces women should invest in?
I love a camel-colored cashmere shawl, a great pair of wedge heel ankle boots, and a fabulous new lipstick shade.

Our Sweet Pea Boutique opened Sunday, September 23 at 11AM ET.
