Road Trip Across America: Blondehaus Goes to LA

WHAT TO WEAR:

Maxi skirts, vintage band tees, comfortable wedges, and fedoras are my L.A. staples, in addition to my bathing suit, flip-flops, and fun DIY accessories. Don’t forget to plan for the beach. Bring a good book and pack sunscreen and lip balm – skin cancer is never in style!

WHERE TO GO:

Intelligentsia Coffee
This cafe in Silver Lake is one of my favorite places to hang out, relax, and read. Good crowd, great people-watching, and amazing espresso.

Santa Monica Pier
Take a ride on the ferris wheel at the Santa Monica Pier to see amazing views of L.A. Something about the smell of warm funnel cake and fried food in the hot summer air keeps me coming back.

Redondo Beach
If you’re headed west, you’d better learn how to surf! There’s nothing more Californian than surfing mornings at Redondo Beach. If you don’t know how, take a day lesson in Santa Monica or Malibu and get out there!

Runyon Canyon
This spot on a weekend morning is equally important for cute-dog watching and celeb spotting. The views aren’t so bad, either.

Venice Beach
Street performers, vendors, grub, history, and character make Venice Beach a staple L.A. stop.
