Weekend Project: The Colorblocked Home
Confession: Like the rest of the country, we have a bit of a Pinterest obsession. Our latest fixation? DIY boards. One recurring theme that keeps popping up on these pinning sprees is colorblocking – and it’s not just for clothing, these colorblocked DIY projects bring the bright trend home and can easily be accomplished on a Sunday afternoon. All it takes to create these fun little utensils are some bamboo serving spoons, tape, and spray paint. Alex Michael May of We See Rainbows, gives the helpful (and safe) suggestion to coat the paint in non-toxic sealant before cooking with them.
Pastel and gold, these coasters add an elegant accent to any coffee table – and they’re easy to make. All you need is four different shades of acrylic paint, gold spray paint, clear varnish, and masking tape.
