Cause for Style: The Tory Burch Foundation

It’s no secret that we love Tory Burch’s classic-meets-eclectic looks. But what we love even more? Her commitment to empowering women.

You see, when this New York-based designer began her label (back in 2004 at her kitchen table), she had more than just fashion on the mind – she wanted to create something to benefit women and children – and so in 2009 she started the Tory Burch Foundation.

Partnering with microfinance organization Accion USA to offer loans and mentoring to American women, the Tory Burch Foundation provides women with the financial tools to improve their lives.

“It’s about investing in people who might otherwise not have the chance to pursue their goals and helping families lift themselves out of poverty… It’s also incredibly important to the economic recovery of our country,” said Burch in 2009.

It’s a rare thing when looking good and doing good come together, which is why we’re thrilled to announce that a portion of the net proceeds from our Tory Burch Boutique will benefit the Tory Burch Foundation. It’s what we like to call fashion with a philanthropic twist – and it’s never looked so chic.

Why would Rue only contribute a portion of the Tory Burch foundation proceeds? I am able to purchase the same products (same as Rue) for the same price yet the TB Foundation donates ALL proceeds (read: Tory Burch Foudation donates 100%, Rue does’t).
