The famed Italian fashion house keeps things forever fresh, in part due their trove of tastemakers aptly called The Ferragamo Girls About Town. In honor of our upcoming accessories Boutique packed with delicious handbags, men’s and women’s shoes, and buttery leather wallets, we checked in with Lauren Remington Platt, socialite, founder of the beauty company Vênsette, and one of the Girls About Town for her take on classic Ferragamo allure.
Rue La La: Tell us what it means to be one of the Salvatore Ferragamo Girls About Town.
Lauren: Each Signorina girl has such a distinct style, personality, profession, and passion. Confidence is sexy and this is something Ferragamo has always enabled through their classic feminine designs. I am flattered to be included in such a diverse and accomplished group of young women.
Rue La La: Let’s talk bags and shoes: what trends are you loving right now?
Lauren: I love color and I am glad winter is behind us. I also like how the wedge has made a recent comeback. As a woman who walks a lot in NYC, I find they are not only comfortable but also give the added benefit of a great silhouette for the leg. Plus, you never get stuck in NYC sidewalk crevasses.
Rue La La: Are there certain accessories you think all women should have in their arsenal?
Lauren: A woman can never go wrong with a timeless gold clutch or a sheer nude pointed heel.
Rue La La: What’s your favorite color of the season?
Lauren: Punchy orange.
Rue La La: You’re an expert in the hair and makeup world through your company Vensette – what beauty trends and colors are you gravitating toward this spring?
Lauren: A gold shimmer eye and a coral lip is the new smokey eye and red lip for summer. Estée Lauder’s Stay Coral color is a must-have.
Rue La La: We’re loving a beauty look that feels fresh, young, and clean. Any tips on mastering that style?
Lauren: Light lip liner to decrease smudging of your lipstick and an eyebrow pencil. Makeup should always emphasize your best natural assets making you look like you… only better.
