Pure Masterpieces

We’re pretty sure April is the best month to be born for two reasons: not only is it Rue’s birthday month, but the birthstone is the obsession-worthy diamond. To celebrate, we’re ushering in The Month of Sparkle with weekly diamond Boutiques – because who couldn’t use a little extra sparkle?

When it comes to our diamond jewelry, we need the history behind the stunners to be as pure and unclouded as the stones themselves. With that in mind, we did some research on the Kimberley Process – a network of about 75 (and growing) countries and governments who are committed to diminishing the trade of “conflict” (or “blood”) diamonds, which can fund violent rebel movements. Started in 2003, the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme certifies rough diamonds as conflict-free and fit for legitimate trade – making our diamonds beautiful both inside and out.

The KP is a charade. It only prevents trade in “rough diamonds used by rebels…” Cut and polished diamonds that fund gross human rights violations, including war crimes, evade regulations and are sold as conflict free diamonds. http://bit.ly/mAjU
