Get Social: Katie Talks Fall Style Rules

We started to realize that Rue Social Correspondent Katie had some (very) particular rules when it comes to getting dressed each morning, so we asked her to put them in writing. Curious about when to break out your cords and ear muffs? Just consult her strict schedule.

  1. Josie says:

I read all your rules but you should consider those not in the north or cold midwest. What are your rules for your friends deep south Flordia and California. I feel your rules simply don’t apply to our weather period. what are your thoughts.

  2. Rue Katie says:

You’re right, Josie. I’m a born-and-bred New England gal, so I know these rules are super specific. I’m jealous of you warm-weather people! My “always” and “never” rules work for you. But overall, the rules are just for fun!

  3. Lauren says:

I agree with most of Katie’s rules, except “no sandals” after 9/1 because a) it’s still hot as you-know-what through October and b) platform or wedge sandals look great w/lacy knee-high stockings or colorful ankle socks worn w/rolled pants or jeans.

  4. Rue Katie says:

Ooh I do agree about tights and certain sandals – so gorgeous. I’ve always had trouble pulling that one off myself, though. Any tips, Lauren?

  5. brynn says:

Never wear apparel for a sports team that’s out of season? Yeah, whatever. You sound like a very rude, judgmental person.

  6. Corrin says:

C’mon ladies. It absolutely does NOT matter what you’re wearing while you’re jogging, just as long as you’re doing it.

  7. Marisa says:

Could you kindly add pajama pants to this list somewhere! I really don’t understand why people think this is ok!

  8. Mary says:

yes uggs are fugly. but they are also epvinsexe.i dont see why? the warranty is good for a lifetime.its awful close to christmas so all the uggs in stock at your local mall are more than likely cleaned out, but its worth the try! (call first and save yourself the gas money) the worst that can happen is that the particular shoe is on backorder and you have to wait longer. go to a shoestore and you NEED a recipt they may order it for you right there. if not just ask what to do someone will telll you.best of luck! i hope someone can help you!
